What changes in the art occurred during the Italian Renaissance?

- Artistic depictions became more realistic looking, compared to the "flat" art in the medieval period. There was new focus on secular subjects rather than religious ones. And, there was the discovery of ways to create the appearance of luminescent light emanating from a person or object in paintings.
