- There are no internationally famous ones. Italy was a collection of city-states after the fall of Rome and well into the 18th century. Each city had it's own ruling class or family. It was late in becoming a nation just as the Prussian states were late in joining together to form Germany.
- No. Italy never had Kings
- Lucrezia Borgia
- Catherine de Medici of the Florentine Medici clan. She married the King of France and if I recall rightly ruled France for a while as regent for her son.
