I want to learn the Italian Language...Is there an On line course I can take?
I'm looking for more of a real on line class through a school, or Italian Language course I can take rather then one of those books or CD (which I already have) I think it would help me to have a deadline to work with to motivate me to actually sit down & learn. Where do I look? Can anyone suggest an on line school or On line Course that offers the Italian language? Thanks! Thank you! Well the reason want an on line course is because I'm a stay at home Mom to my 2 kids (both under 2) so I don't really have the time to leave & be away. An on line course would least would allow me the flexibilitly of being able to learn & study at home while my kids are playing or down for a nap & I would still be here with them.

- Hmm ... this is not a learning method that I would advocate, as I really believe that effective language teaching and learning can only take place in the physical presence of a competent speaker. But if you are really determined to pursue this line of enquiry, I would suggest that you place your question on Answers Italia ... you won't need to understand the answers because all you really need is the links. Here is the translation of your question (you are only allowed to use Italian on Answers Italia, and this applies most especially to questioners ... you may find that some people answer in English). Go to it.answers.yahoo.com and click on "Entra". You should get in straightaway without having to re-enter your login details. Put the question in "Societa' e culture" > "Lingue" "Vorrei imparare la lingua italiana. Sono principiante [=I'm a beginner]. Conoscete un corso adatto che possa seguire tramite internet? Mi interesserebbe soprattutto un corso tramite internet offerto da una scuola di lingua italiana. Mi potreste dare dei link? Grazie!" Oh! I nearly forgot! One of my own Italian teachers might be able to help on-line. His name is Giovanni and his website is www.languagestoall.com - I would stress that I am not advertising, since I do not advocate internet learning and I am encouraging you to seek other recommendations too!
- IMHO I think that it is very hard to find a good site to teach you a language. I tried Spanish on line before ninth grade and it didn't help me at all when I took the course in September and it really didn't help me when I had my Spanish II class.
- there's a great site all for free!actually i'm using it to learn spanish but there's an italian course, too! the site is http://www.radiolingua.com/ hope you like it even though it's a podcast and not a real on line class but you can send stuff to the teacher if you want...!
