I'M AN ITALIAN SPEAKER. But I have often read your answers about this. And I wondered that many persons answered that Italian is easy. That's right for Spanish or French native speakers (there strong similarities). But I can't judge this issue.I can't say it's wrong Please in your answer, give me following DETAILS: - YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE - YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF ITALIAN Attention, This question is on AnswerUSA pages. Please answer in English. Don't be fooled by links on AnswerItalia

  1. Well, as my mother-tongue is Romanian and our language is therefore Latin influenced, I would have to say that, for me, Italian was pretty easy to learn. I would say that I know quite well Italian, and I can understand a tv show in Italian.
  3. Unfortunately you can't base your judgement on Answer Italia, 'cause a big part of asking and answering ignore the good Italian language. They make mistakes on grammar, verbs and other. Many people use SMS language or a kind of Hip Hop one, and the little Italian they hardly speak is incorrect. It's a great problem of the Italian School. I am Italian, and you get only my word to trust in my ability to speak a good Italian. Maybe my English is scholar and full of mistakes, I study English long ago for two years at a night school, and I didn't use it until I discovered also Answer USA, Canada, etc. Yes you're right, Italian people can easily learn English, but English people can learn Italian more easily only if he studied Latin, if not, it's a little more hard. English gets a simple structure for latin peoples. on the contrary our languages gets a really difficulty overall for verbs and the great number of exceptions. Perhaps you know, it's enough putting an adjective before or after a word to completely change its meaning. Example: 'un pover'uomo', (a poor man), it means that man is unlucky or suffering, or saying our disgust for him. 'Un uomo povero', (a man poor), it means that he has no money. Two, or three, and so on meanings, that's depending about the contest of the phrase and, important, the inflection of the voice. Wishes.
  4. I was born in Italy where I lived and attended school toll the age of 18, I’ve been in US since then. In my opinion the Italian language is easier to learn then English because it does not have all the exceptions, however, the grammar if very difficult as stated by aleun99 above. In Italian you can compound words to make a slight difference. Help me in Italian is aiutami but by changing “mi with ci” on the end “aiutaci” it means help us by changing little more “aiutatemi” means to ask for both of you to help me and “aiutateci” it means to ask for both of you to help us as you can see a small change even on one single word changes the meaning. I hope I’ve answered your question adequately.
  5. Mi perdoni, sorella, se mi permetto di darle un consiglio...però ha ragione ben...è una domanda molto interessante, ma mi sa che qui non avrai le risposte che cerchi...perchè non provi ad andare su answers UK o USA e a rifarla lì?
