I need information about ITALIAN FOOD?

i need to find sites that have info about any italian food(except for pizza or pasta) and please no recipes - it should have a description of the food and the history - sites Thank you!

The food network's site should have a wealth of info for you.
There is the best cook book ever called "GASTRONOMIQUE" it tells the history of all foods, the wines and desserts and what should be served together...cheeses, everything...for real...its unbelieveable...and thorough.

Mario Batali's page on wwwfoodnetwork.com is the best. Giada DeLaurentiis' page is okay, but it's a lot lighter than Molto Mario.
