Would you consider the Italian culture to be healthy?
As in the way they eat. Is the kinds of food Italians eat healthy?

- Garlic and some olive oil is great for the body. And yes they use a lot of vegetables, grains, good meat, etc etc. But they eat in way different portions. Like if you go to Fazolis compared to an authentic italian rest. you'll see the difference.
- Definitely! Olive oil, fresh veggies, lots of fruit, lean meat, fish, wine and pasta... One of the best and healthiest cuisines in the world.
- Most italian eat fresh food so that is obviously healthy they use garlic and olive oil which is supper good for you. They eat a lot of bread and pasta LOTS of carbs but considering their lifestyle which is less stressful and they dont really drive they walk everywhere..so they burn everything....great people great food!
- Yeah it just depends on how much you eat of it.Italians like to eat so it can be a problem.
- Yes, the italians enjoy their meal and take the time to eat. They don't shove their food down their throats in 35 - 45 minutes. Although this is slowly changing. I still enjoy going to a restaurant in Italy and being able to sit 3-4 hours and enjoy its course and allow my food to settle before I have the next course. The cook with olive oil, eat a lot of their meats and vegetables simply cooked and not overspiced(depending on what area and dish it is) and do not overload their plates.
- yes i'm italian mediterranean diet is one of the best healthy cuisine in the world, it's not greasy, it's poor of animal proteines, and rich in carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables, also wine is good to protect heart from diseases in italy for example obesity isn't spread, as in USA and in north europe
