Poveglia, Italy, the most haunted place in the world?
I couldn't believe I haven't even heard of this place until today!?!?! I am travelling to Italy (Venice, Florence, Pisa and Rome) and during my research online, came across this website describing Italy as one of the most haunted places in the world? The more I read about Poveglia, the more I imagine it as something out of a real ghost story. Is it true though, these ghost stories? Or simple something made up by people? Anybody heard/been to/had experiences with Poveglia before in their life? Sorry if I offended anyone, I did not intend on it, I just read on a website, that described the horrible history the place had, and how it is now closed off to tourists. But maybe these reports have more of a ring of fiction than truth to it.

- It's one of the tiny islands of the Venetian Lagoon. It has an unfortunate history but to say it was haunted is a bit over the top.
- I live in Italy,near Venice but have never heard about that.Actually I don't even know where Poveglia is.I guess if that story was true I should have heard something about it.So,don't worry about ghosts and enjoy your time here in Italy. . .When are you coming?
