Venice italy .... best holiday company for a city break in march 08 please.?
Im wanting to take my gf to venice as a surprise from east midlands or Manchester - Liverpool and would like to know which travel agent would you consider?

- I travel a lot within Italy and book work out all the plans myself online rather than going through a company. An excellent site for finding accomodation in Italy, in general, and Venice is venere.com. http://en.venere.com/hotels_venice/ You can narrow down your search to a specific area of the city and sort by price, guest rating and other criteria. There are guest reviews of the hotels that are useful for getting a feel for what to expect. I've used this site to find places during Carnevale in Venice and Octoberfest in Munich and other places and have always been pleased with the results. This is a good site for finding budget flights in Europe: http://www.whichbudget.com/ Ryanair flys from Liverpool to Treviso (the alternative airport for Venice). There are buses that meet the flight to shuttle you into the city. You can click on the link to Ryanair to see specific schedules and prices. There are 5 low cost airlines that have flights from Manchester to Venice Marco Polo airport.
