Why Italy
If I buy 2nd class Eurail National Pass(Italy), can I travel the night rail from Venice to Rome? Is it safe?

- Ive traveled on the intercity train from Venice to Rome at night a few years back, and I wouldnt do it again. If I were u I would take a ES train. The intercity train isnt individual seats. Its like a small room with 5 other people that can sit there. I had a prostitute in the room i was in and the police came to get her out because she didnt have a ticket, a man that keeped smoking in the room and ended up with a group of some kind of religon right before I got to rome! It was one of the worst train rides I had. OHHHHHHHHHH and in venice it was very quiet and almost no one there at night as I was waiting for the train.
- yes, it is quite safe from venice to Rome, I've travelled from Turin to Vibo Pizzo at night time and nothing ever happened to me, nor have I heard of anything happening.
- I would suggest to travel by day, it is not unsafe, but I feel better travelling by day
