Please recommend a great Italy tour guide for us?
We are a group of 6 in our early 30s, most married, and business working professionals who need a nice vacation before some of start thinking about starting a family. We want to visit Rome, Milan, Florence in about 12 days. Since it's our first time, we want to visit the major sites, do some serious outlet shopping, and enjoy some fine dining, and maybe visit some special experiences like visiting a winery or taking an italian cooking class, etc. We would sincerely appreciate a referral to someone who can plan all of this out for us and guide us all over Italy. We are definitely willing to pay for a great experience since we don't get to travel as much as we'd like to. We would like to stay at nicer hotels, ideally some with elevators. Thanks in advance!!

- try Luigi
- ...I'm sorry I can't help you with a guide, but why don't you consider to visit Venice instead of Milan? MIlan is so sad...Otherwise, you could visit a city in the south of Italy....! For what concer Rome, it's one of the most beautifull town of the world (I'm from there). Florence too it is a very beautifull town too! Enjoy your trip!
- My friends just completed a once in a lifetime trip to Italy that sounds much like what you want, and they used the agency listed below. I know that they stayed in first rate hotels, and in one place had a view of the Mediterranean Sea that they will remember forever. You may want to at least contact this well established company, and maybe they could give you an idea of what is available out there. Have a great trip!
- I agree with P above..Perillo tours have been around for decades and do a fantastic Italy adventure.
- If you want to plan your own trip start by going to www.venere.com. This is the italian version of Hotels.com. Here I found the Hotel Constantini in the center of Florence, where with $50 per person per night we had breakfast included (keep in mind we went in November - low season). In Rome, Hotel Tirreno is a good one to stay in. Petrillo Tours is an all inclusive tour operator and certainly a great place if you do not wish to worry about the details. Try Cantalupo Tours also www.cantalupotours.com who are very highly rated. And here is another option for you. A bit on the expensive side but their itineraries are quite extensive and their affiliations impressive. http://www.escorteditalytours.com/
