Hello, I work in a travel agency in Italy. A customer wants a trip to the HarryPotter locations (castle, etc).
Do you know if agencies/tour operator there offer the whole thing? (hotel, tour, guide)? Or else I might book flights and hotel, but I still need to know how to reach the location and if a guide is available. Thanks a lot to anyone willing to help :) Have a nice Sunday

- Ummmm what harry potter locations???? theyre real?
- Most of the out door stuff was filmed in Glen Coe Village - Scotland. The Castle etc are not real and just computer effects.
- i was at oxford university once and saw a sign in one of the buildings there that says that it was used in the filming of the Harry Potter movies.
- I believe that the school halls used in the film were at Oxford University...but I don't believe there is one location where the whole thing was filmed...you might want to search "Harry Potter" on the web and look for information on the cinematography of the film.
- Alnwick Castle outside Berwick is what you`re looking for, then its up to the highland, google Scotland and see how you go from there
- Hogwarts School is a castle in scotland but i cannot remember the name. Don't think they have the moving staircase though!
- there is no such thing. the castle was made and well it is a very long explanation and very complicated but just know that the harry potter castle is not real! and for the rest i have no idea
- Yes, there are many such tours. A quick Google search would have found them, but I don't think they would combine them with a hotel, and it's doubtful they would have an Italian speaking guide. You could telephone and find out. If you want to do Alnwick, Glenfidden, Gloucester, Oxford, London and Surrey, I expect that you'll need several different hotels, or else there would be a lot of daily travelling. Maybe you could find an Italian language student to be a guide during the Summer holidays.
- All of the films were shot entirely in the sunny yorkshire village of Hull. Next summer we hope to be having george lucas here to film 3 more star wars episodes, and princess diana - the movie.
- the hall in harry potter is the hall at Laycock Abbey in Wiltshire they do tours round this by arrangment during the winter and its open during the summer with guided tours
- The main harry potter castle (Hogwarts) is called Alnwick castle in northumberland. It is situated 33 miles north of Newcastle-upon-tyne and 80 miles south of Edinburgh.Edinburgh and Newcastle-upon-tyne both have international airports.Within the town of Alnwick there is a range of accommodation,if you cant get there then there is a wide range of accommodation is the surrounding areas. if you want to contact Alnwick castle with enquiries enquiries@alnwickcastle.com there are also others in oxford. if you go onto British tours there is a site that gets people to tour round the country with your visitors, they speak in a range of different languages including Italian. i hope this helps-good luck!!!from a 14 year old xxx

- you work there, you tell us
- Hi Some of it was filmed at Gloucester Cathedral.

- the place used as Hogwarts was Gloucester cathedral, can be reached from London Victoria coach station by national express 412 or 413.
- Some very interesting answers! Hogwarts was Alnwick Castle, a beautiful castle in Northumberland in the north of England. The Hogwarts train is stored at Carnforth near Lancaster, I'm not sure it is open to the public although the station itself is famous for another film. I doubt if there are any tours as a lot of the places were fictitious and those that aren't are scattered far and wide.
- The railway sequences were shot at Kings Cross Stn in London, the Hogwarts express is seen travelling over the Glenfinnan viaduct on the railway from Fort William to Mallaig.
