I would prefer to fly roundtrip from Tampa to either Rome or Pisa as my final destination would be Cortona, Tuscany. I'm looking for the least expensive time of year to fly (obviously NOT summer). Would airfare between the U.S. and Italy be higher on Thanksgiving week than early Nov. or early Dec.? Also would I save much money by booking to London on a major carrier and flying Ryanair or Easyjet between London and Italy? Another possibility--Globespan flies between Orlando Sanford and Glasgow, Scotland (Glasgow International). Ryanair flies between Glasgow Prestwick (different airport) and Pisa. Is it feasible to travel between Glasgow International and Prestwick and if I went this route would it be significantly less expensive than booking on a major carrier round trip to Rome or Pisa?
