Getting to your hotel in Italy - Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan?
Traveling to Itlay for the 1st time in September and was wondering if anyone had tips on how to get from the airport or train stations to hotels? In Rome it's from the airport, Florence, Venice and Milan are from the rail stations, as well as to Milan airport (Malpensa). Are Taxi's readily available from the stations? Any information would be helpful!

- As a rule Taxis are readily available either from/to the airports and railway stations but here in Italy they are extremely expensive. However in any of the mentioned airports/stations there are easy connections with the centre of the 4 towns (where are usually located main hotels) and the cheapest are the shuttle bus that are frequently starting a while after any landing/main trains arrival. Only during the night this service is suspended or slowed-down (depending on the hour..!!) and at this point you'll be forced to take a taxi.At this point I suggest you to bargain the price with the taxi driver prior hopping on ...!! I know that's possible and.... advisable. If you are unlucky you could be obliged to use the taxi even because public transport by bus is suspended for any strike (we have quite a lot of this here in Italy,,,) and in those days you need to forget bargaining and ready availability...!!
