Why Italy

Will I be able to travel freely through Europe and Asia with a U.S. passport, even though I have a felony?

I have obtained an American Passport already. My question is whether or not other countries will let me in to visit. I am a professional Chef who wishes to travel through Italy, France, Germany, Prauge, Greece, Holland, England, Russia, Ireland, China/Tibet, Thailand, and Japan. If you have any information that would be helpful for any and all these places, it would be appreciated.

  1. It is not that you have committed a felony; what matters is the type of felony you have committed. Please be specific so you can get an accurate answer.
  2. You will need to apply for a Shengen visa to visit most of the European countries, and individual visas for the Asian countries. You need to visit the websites of each country you wish to visit to read the visa requirements and restrictions. You can go to the website below to see entry requirements for each of the countries you wish to visit and contact info for their embassies or consulates.
  3. As a US passport holder, you do not need a visa to visit Europe for under 90 days. For stays in Europe longer than that, you will need a visa (this is the Schengen visa that the previous entry was speaking about ). In this case, you will need to submit your police records from every place you have lived in the last five years, from there it is up to the specific embassy you apply at to decide if you can enter. For Asia, i'm not as sure - In Thailand, you apply for your visa upon arrival, so i'm not sure how hard that is. In China, I went as a business traveler, so I had no background check, however i'm not sure what you get as a tourist. No matter where you go, however, check with the country's embassy website before you arrive.
