Why Italy

anyone have information about traveling to italy?

i am interested in traveling to italy. i would love input as to the best time to travel. also, i probably can only go for about ten days. what city should i fly into, and which cities should i attempt to visit? i would like to see some of the main tourist sites, but i would also like to see some off-the-beaten-track areas. any ideas? what would be a good price for a round trip ticket from new york? thanks in advance.

  1. I have been to italy several times with the military. Do not go at the end of August because they all go on holiday and travel is not easy at that time. If you have enough time, make sure you travel to both Northern and Southern italy, they are each very different in many ways. I was able to spend some time in Naples and found some great restaurants down the alleyways. They all were excellent. I hope you have a great trip and get lots of good advice, Sorry I was not able to provide much information. I hope to make it back there some day.
  2. never in summer-too hot/too crowded venezia, cinque terre, orvieto
