Information about train travel from Rome to Carsoli?
I am traveling to Italy in about 2 months time, and i will be flying to the Leonardo Da Vinci airport. I am a bit stuck as to where to go. I basically want to get the train from the airport to a train station in Carsoli just east of Rome city centre. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to what trains i need to catch to get to this Carsoli station? Thank you for anyone that can give me information! - At the airport take the FM1 metropolitan train to Roma Tiburtina station (not the Leonardo Express to Roma Termini). There are 4 trains per hour from the airport to Tiburtina. At Tiburtina, you can catch a train to Carsoli. It will be the stop after Tivoli. The price is 9.50 euro. You can check schedules at: http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html. If you can get to the airport train station before 7:05 in the morning, you can take the train to Roma Termini and make a fast connection to Carsoli. Edit: Yes, but the train isn't right at the airport like at Fiumicino. You have to catch a bus to the Ciampino station for the train to Rome - the bus is less than a euro and the train is a little more than euro: see http://www.cimt.it/how%20to%20get%20here.htm You could also catch a bus to the closest metro station There is also a more expensive direct shuttle bus from Ciampino to Roma Termini.
