Why Italy

do i need a swiss visa to travel from germany to italy by train (passing through switz. territory)?

i am a turkish citizen with a valid US visa (I am a legal US resident ) and a schengen visa. I know I won't need a visa for airport transit but I am not sure about the train??? how strict are the swiss with their borders?

  1. no
  2. not unless you stop in switz. but if you stay within the train station, even if you stop to change trains, you do not need to. only if you leave the station to go out onto the street.
  3. I think you would need a Transit Visa.
  4. As a legal US resident you may travel to Switzerland without an extra visa. So you are lucky - you may stay up to three months (but not work here, of course). Greetings from Switzerland
