Why Italy

Copenhagen, Vienna, Barcelona or Athens Cheaper?

Hi, I travel Italy soon and my airfare allows me to stop either Copenhagen, Vienna or Barcelona or Athens. As my travel covers long period of 3 weeks, cost is a concern for me rather than actual tourist attractions. Cost in terms of hotel, transportation, food and guided sightseeing tours. My main is Italy but since I am given one stop for either these 4 cities, which is cheaper to visit? I look at 4Days in either Copenhagen, Vienna, Barcelona or Athens. Please some kind advice which is a better deal. Purse string is my concern. I avoid Switzerland even though one stop is given as I am aware the high cost in Switzerland. Thank you very much.

  1. As for hotels, if you're lucky, you'll pay about 50 euros per night. Twice that will definitely get you a room. http://www.hotels.dk/ Copenhagen's fairly small, so you don't really need much transportation. Having said that, if 'soon' means anytime sooner than May - then go to Athens or Barcelona. The weather's not very reliable in April.
  2. I dont know about the other places but i live in denmark and its expensive here. I've been to austria but not in vienna and it was cheaper than DK.
  3. While I love Copenhagen, having lived there I can tell you that it is a very expensive city in general. I was recently in Barcelona and I found it beautiful, w/ plenty to do and I didn't feel that it was particularly expensive. It really is a wonderful city, I would highly recommend it.
