best travel guides?
my friend and i are looking to travel in italy and greece but we have no idea which travel guides are best to use. we are looking for something that can get us the best deals on hostels, restaurants, places to go, etc.

- Without any doubt,, Lonely Planet,, You can probably get one to have info enough for both countries..
- Lonely Planet and Rick Steves are good choices for independent travel.
- I really like Rough Guides (http://www.roughguides.com/) and find them more readable than Lonely Planet. They provide lots of great background information as well as listings for hostels, restaurants, etc.
- You can buy in Usa a guide called "Michellin: for Italy and Greece, I think is the best or in Europe they sell it everywhere. Have fun
- The "Lonely Planet" series are pretty good and up to date. Definately worth the price on best places to see, eat, stay etc.
