Why Italy

What are Italian emotions like? How do Italians act? What are their souls like? Music?

I want to be a brilliant Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, and I really want to touch bases with the Italian side of it. I understand that Italian people are just like everyone else, but I know that there are differences. So, like, what are they like when they are in love, when they are sad, when they are happy? What are they like with they are with friends, when they are depressed? How do they speak? What makes them unique? Can anyone give me names to GOOD Italian music? How would I research this outside of the internet?
