Train Travel in Italy and Ferry to Athens?
We are on a cruise that departs Athens and returns to Rome. We are thinking of flying in to Rome and then taking a few days to take the train south, through Italy, then get a ferry over to Greece. What is the best port to make the ferry journey from, in Italy?

- It will be either Bari or Brindisi, both ports have connections to Patras/Greece from where you can travel by bus/train to Athens. Bari-Patras offers a Superfast connection taking 16:30 hours whereas a ferry from Brindisi takes 16:00 hours. however it is located further south and takes longer train travel (+54 minutes) versus 4:03 minutes from Roma Centrale to Bari Centrale.
