2. avoid the city centres they tend to be dearer and touristy,the ones a bit further out tend to be better,the rough guide to italy should give you all the info you need
3. Quite easy, really. 1. Open mouth. 2. Shovel in food.

5. The food can be a little pricey there. It is sooo good though. The pizzas are different but you will enjoy them. Be sure to try all the outdoor cafes. I am so jealous...you are going to love it!
6. In Italy there are different way of cooking it depends where you are going to. Try Pizza in Naples, bruschetta, pasta amatriciana, carbonara in Rome, lasagne in Bologna, Risotto in Milan, sweets in Sicily and cheese in Puglia and sardinia. The piadina and the ham in Romagna. The best meat is in Tuscany.
