Booking a flight to Italy round trip for 2 months in July. How long ahead of time is good to book the flight?
I have heard 2-3 months and when I look up tickets 2-3 months from now to Italy they are significantly cheaper than ones 6 months from now when I am traveling. Is this because its an off season or is it better to wait until its 2-3 months before the date to book the flight? Any recommendations for travel sites or airlines are welcome.

- The tickets 3 months from now are cheaper than the ones 6 months from now because Summer is high season and not Spring. Generally, airline ticket prices only increase as you approach the departure date.
- High Season (Summer) starts around the 2nd week of June! Keep checking, and put some air-fare alerts on any of the following sites. The more flexible you are on departure date and day and airports of departure and destination, the best! - The best time to purchase is when the fares are on sale. The simple answer is do your research, compare different sites and airlines and if you find a good fare, buy it.
