Why Italy

I am looking to rent a room (in a flat or home) in Florence Italy. How can I do that from the U.S. ?

I want to rent a room, maybe in a flat with Italian students or working professionals, for a month in June or July 2007. I want to arrange all of that from here in the states, without having to pay too much. I am a female in my 20's and I want to have an authentic cultural experience without paying too much. If you have any contacts in Florence Italy or in Rome Italy please feel free to respond. I would greatly appreciate any help and recommendations. Thank you!!

1. Look online for Craigs list. Go to the Italian cities and post an ad telling them what you want and when you want it. I know there is a Craigs List for Rome and I know it is read by those in Florence. There might be one in Florence by now. That will work for you. Florence is a nice city, the food is wonderful and the people are friendly. Of course the museums are among the best in the world. You'll have a great time.

3. well i do not know if this will help you but my sister went to Florence with a friend and stayed with a few people. she is college student and stayed the summer. (not for school but for fun) she used the website http://www.florencerooms.net/. good luck on going by yourself. chaz
