Why Italy

How long will it take me to get from Florence to Venice, Italy?

And how long is the trip from Rome to the island Capri? Thank you.

  1. With the EuroStar train it'll take you about 1 hour and 30 minutes, while with the InterCity train it's about 2 hours and 30 minutes. As for Rome to Capri, you'll need to get the ferry from Naples. So the train from Rome to Naples is about 1.5hrs, then the ferry ride is just over 1hr. If you take the hydrofoil (high speed craft) the ride is about 30 minutes. Have a great trip!
  2. A Eurostar between Florence and Venice takes 2 hr 40 min. An Intercity train takes 3 hr 13 min. You can check train schedules, trip times, and prices for yourself at the Italian train website: http://www.trenitalia.com/cms/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=ad1ce14114bc9110VgnVCM10000080a3e90aRCRD The train from Rome to Naples takes 1 hr 21 min on the high speed trains up to 2 hr 40 min on the regional trains. When you get to Naples take a cab to Molo Beverello - about 15 minutes. From there you can catch a boat to Capri. You can find the ferry schedules and prices here: http://www.capri.net/en/ship-timetable . Your total travel time depends on the type of train you take, whether you get a hydrofoil or a slower boat, and how long you have to wait at the port for the next boat to Capri. The minimum possible time would be about 2 and a half hours, but you should count on more.
