How many hours away is Florence, Italy from Paris, France?
Taking a vacation dont know whether to fly to Ramstein AFB s in Germany and make my way to Paris and other cities or fly to Florence Italy and go to Paris. I'm staying on military base and want to get the most out of my trip with all the different cities. Any recommendations and what other cities like greece or anything else to see near? How far apart and would i take car or train, whats cheapest and SAFE?

- Greece is nowhere near either Florence or Paris, so don't do that. Rick Steves has a great map for planning train trips: http://www.ricksteves.com/rail/timecostmap.htm It looks like Florence to Paris by train would take 10-12 hours. Ramstein is close enough to Frankfurt, and according to that map it is only 4 hours to Paris. But it all depends on how much time you have, because the train from Florence to Paris can take you through Milan and Genoa. If you want to get in a bunch of cities, that would be a great route. Also, there are some really cheap airfares within Europe that end up being cheaper than train tickets. Airone and Lufthansa fly around Central Europe.
