What would a trip to Italy in November be like?

My (rather large) family is planning a trip to Italy, and we are trying to decide the best time to go. We plan to visit Rome, Assisi, Siena, Florence, Verona, and Venice. How is the weather in November? When would you recommend as the best time to visit? Any tips you want to pass along? None of us are exactly world wanderers, so any advice would be appreciated. hello, I live in turin. There is very cold. Now it's snowing!! In Florence snowing too. November...it's bad to visit these places. In summer july is the best month...july-august, in spring the end of april-may. its very cold now...April-May is the best time.... During spring, Italy is in its real color...u can really enjoy Italy during this season...There ar number of places worth seeing in Italy.... Italy is truly blessed with beauty of nature
NOT november---v cold,travel may be difficult.Spring best time --summers can be VERY hot .Have you thought of a cruise ? You wont see all these places but its a fantastic way to see the world . I'd have a guided tour of Rome or you'd miss a lot ---good luck Mary
It would be very cold, probably windy as well but at least not crowded. If you get to Venice during high season you start aprreciate pros of low season. Still pretty cold though :-)
I live about an hour south of Verona and go out exploring on weekends throughout the year. November usually isn't too cold, but it is one of the wetter months. There are some interesting things to in November - there are truffle festivals in Alba and San Miniato that are good. Verona has a large horse show. The Rome and Bologna Jazz Festivals run in November. Near Venice, there's a small town that has the Gioco dell'Oca which is an interesting experience. In late November, the Christmas markets start. However, the weather is more likely to be nice in September and October. Late April to early June is also a good time to be here. The weather's nice, the attractions are all open, and there aren't so many tourists.
A lot depends on what type of weather you are used to back home. Italy can get quite hot in Summer, but if you're young and/or used to the heat in Summer then it shouldn't be a problem. November is one of the less predictable months particularly the further North you go in Italy. On the other hand it's also a good time to visit as the tourist attractions will be less crowded. In Rome this year we had an excellent November, and a very rainy start to December, so rainy in fact that we had floods! The best time to visit is just before or after Summer: September, October, November and April, May, beginning June. Of course these months in Rome are considered in Season, whereas end July and August are mid-season, as it's the time that most Italians are on holiday and head to the coast.
hi!I'm italian.i don't think that it is a good idea...there's very cold in november..I advice you..may..and generally summertime...italy is beautiful but if you want to see the best you should go in sicily!
it's not very cold..and it depends on where do you go. i live in the south and the weather is pretty good!!.. then, if you'd like to visit cities like rome or florence the weather shouldn't be a problem, since those are artistic places!!..anyway it would be better for you to go from march-april to june...not during the summer because it's too hot to visit these cities.. PS.the weather in venice is almost always very moist and I don't like it very much...I prefer verona or also pisa(with the tower) that is near siena and firenze
