Why Italy

Why is the Italian Mafia dying?

I understand that they're all getting arrested and indicted on alot of charges. But why weren't a bunch of the mobsters getting arrested in the 1st half of the 20th century? How come these guys could always get away with their crimes in the 20's through the 60's, and now they're arresting every single mafia boss out there. How come the FBI always ignored this in the earlier years, and then they started working on it in the 70's?

  1. Because there are bigger bosses who are interested in their business foremost drugs using more hightech in execution of their business which the mafias cannot afford.
  2. Okay reason 1: Bigger police force. reason 2: Police force is working with law. So ever they do it is protected by the government. Whilst mafia is not. reason 3: Better equipped police focre they have the technology to breach the mafia. reason 4: The mafia's activities are bad why would you want more on the streets. reason 5: The public look up to the police force for help not the mafia.
  3. There is no Italian mafia. It's the Sicilian mafia you're thinking of.
  4. They are not dying just the idiots who show to much bling have all gotten the fish.
