Is it cheaper to buy a land tour when in Italy or before traveling abroad?

- It depends on where and when you are going. My experience is that you get to Italy first, then pick a city you want to use as your "home" point. From there, with the help of your hotel's concierge, you can book your tours.
- Hotel concierges also get commissions for booking tours. A tour booked at a hotel may be much higher than booking in advance. And your choices will be limited. If you know where you want to visit, research the tour prices online before you leave when you have time to weigh your options and pick the best choice. If it's a good price, go ahead and book it.
