Why Italy

Can anyone tell me some great sources for travel to Europe?

I'm looking for informational (and accurate) sources for traveling to Europe (mainly Amsterdam and Italy). Books, websites, people...can anyone help me out? Either through here or send an email to hesyngs4u@yahoo.com (title the subject "Euro Travel")

  1. Lets go Europe book is the main resource.
  2. Don't leave out Germany and Austria WW2 ended already, its safe now ! and its so beautiful ! and the foods are super ! Get a Eurailpass ! Its so convenient! www.germany-tourism.de/ www.austria.info/ www.eurail.com/ While you are travelling, don't waste time looking at a book and miss the real thing. I've seen some travellers do that. They missed the best scenery and ignored exploring because they couldn't get their noses out of their travel books. Why bother travel if you only focus on a book ? Oh and if you really want to see Europe, go to the small towns, there you will have the true Europe, instead of just the globalization-conformity big cities -- pardon my grammar, but trying to communicate beyond grammar's limitations.
  3. Ask an old wise man from Tibet
  4. Check out your local bookstore/library, they should have some great stuff. Another good place to start is http://www.tripadvisor.com It has a lot of great stuff, attractions, dining, museums etc etc. And they also have traveller reviews there so you can get an idea of what others thought about it. Good luck, and have a GREAT time.
  5. I went with a small group from my school through a group called ACIS. the guide was excellent and wasnt boring at all. we went to Rome, The Vatican, Florence, and Venice. all in all i would say that Florence and Venice were the best places there. although all of what i saw in italy was gorgeous. as for amsterdam ive never been there so im sorry i cant tell you about that. except they have good weed. thats about it though
