- 1 fact is that the french got most of their ideas from the italian cuisine .
- Italian food mostly includes sauce, such as tomato sauce and in italy they have 3 courses in a restaruant.
- cool facts? i do not get this...cool for food....???? but Italian foods are usually pastas, salads with only olive oil and a bit of vinegar for dressing, eggplant, zucchini, bell peppers for their tomato based sauces they use:onions, garlic, carrots, celery and parsley. then they have pizza, but made with real mozzarella-the white kind, not the American kind...and not so many toppings. very good cheeses and cold cuts.
- its good for diets because its usually salad or pasta or bread
- Would you like to know some typical dish? Every single region has its own recipes for pasta. There are more than 600 different sorts of pasta, with or without stuffing. During a stay of Italian king Umberto I. and his wife Margherita in 1889 the patriotic cook Raffaele Esposito used basil, mozzarella and tomatoes as national colors for his pizza - at that time pizza was just similar to bread without the cheese thing - the pizza margherita was born. Italians (in the north) are so addicted to fungi, especially to the yellow boletus, that they organize every year large bus tours into neighboring countries to find him. In restaurants you pay always an extra for the dishes ^^
- I'm Italian. Pasta was invented both in Italy and in China because these population never got in contanct in that period and Italian pasta is very different from Chinese one.... However the most popular foods are Pasta, Pizza and Gelato. We have a great number of different foods, because Italy is characterised in regional cousine (we have no national cousine like France for example), each region has its specialities that are very different one from another... Southern cousin is completely different from Northern one. The Italian cousine is popular and traditional because it was not the cousine of rich people but of poor ones, this means that you can eat these specialities at a very low price in Italy (but not in tourist restaurant in the city center of course...). A very good pizza here in Italy coasts no more than 5-6 euros but abroad a real Italian pizza can coasts 15-20 euro... I think the success factors of Italian cousine are that it is genuine, extremely variegate, and for everyone.
