What is the difficulty level of learning the italian language?

I already know english and spanish very well, so I really want to a learn a new language...I am even willing to study chinese mandarin.

1. probably much easier than learning mandarin since many root words are so similar. However i have heard it from professional translators that its actually easier to learn a completely unrelated language since theres little similarity to confuse you. It'll probably come down to how much you practice. i also speak spanish and learned to follow italian and portuguese if they talk slow without much effort
2. If you know spansih then Italian will be a breeze! Chinese I hear is really tough...but if you're motivated you can learn anything! The library (and book stores) sell conversation in many languages (on disc or tape) so good luck!
