What is the best Italian guidebook?
I am traveling to Italy this summer for about a month. I am looking for the best guidebook and also any information that anyone might send me in regards with what to do in Italy. Also, is there a good guidebook specifically for backpacking through Italy? I dont have to backpack but since it saves money, it is an option. I am going to Italy for a month. What do I do while I am there?

- I absolutely adore DK guidebooks. They're informative and VERY professional, have not just your standard information on what, when and where. Here is the link to their Italian series: http://us.dk.com/nf/Search/QuickSearchProc/1,,italy,00.html?id=italy As for backpack traveling, I can recommend this: http://www.travelingo.org/italy/ http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbninquiry.asp?r=1&ean=9780974355245 http://www.backpackitaly.com/ask_bp_for/general_BPs_guide/study_work_and_long_term_stay.asp http://uk.holidaysguide.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-7509-italy_travel_guide-i And this: http://www.backpackeurope.com/tips/books/italybooks.html You can find all the necessary information on the Net (or most of it), just dig tourist forums, they're endless and give you lots of really good information. Just print it out, make your own route, and you'll get your own guidebook! To save even more, you can check for guidebooks on eBay. Some of them are used and cost pennies, but are in perfect condition. Good luck and happy traveling! :)
