- hallo, absolutely yes. The 15 Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. All these countries except Norway and Iceland are European Union members. With a Schengen visa, you may enter one country and travel freely throughout the Schengen zone. Internal border controls have disappeared; there are no or few stops and checks. This means that internal air, road and train travel are handled as domestic trips, similar to travel from one US state to another. Those who traveled in Europe before Schengen know the difference.
- It depends upon the type of Schengen visa you hold. If you hold a Schengen visa issued by Germany, you will have to enter the Schengen Zone from Germany only PROVIDED you are using this particular visa for the first time. If the visa is a multiple-entry type and you have used it before, you can enter Italy from the UK or anywhere else. Italian immigration can deny you entry into Italy or ask several questions if you attempt to enter that country on your Schengen visa issued by Germany.
