- Frommers, saved my trip! Besides going to where all the tourist go you should definetively go to Lucca, Positano, Bellagio and Lake Como, thanks to Frommers i found those INCREDIBLE places. Have Fun! Don't waste your money on lonely planet.
- Im a Rick Steves fan. Love all his travel books.
- Travel books. Go to book stores and ask them, that's the easiest way. If they don't have any books about Italy. Search the internet, or go to encyclepedia. I'm sorry if i spelled it wrong but i don't know the word correctly. Have a good time in Italy. =)
- There are several great travel books for Italy. Rick Steves Lonely Planet, Frommers and DK Eyewitness all are great books. Read them to see which one you like best. If you are going to any of the big cities like Rome, Venice, or Florence, it would be a great idea to buy a book that covers just that city. I have used all of these. Rick Steves guides are my favorite. However, read through these books to choose the one that is best for you.
- I agree with Lisa D. and Robertina: no travel writer loves Italy more than Rick Steves (though I wish he would learn proper Italian pronunciation -- or at least TRY) so I think you will find his books very helpful. He has captured the spirit of the land and the people. For an on-line guide, try http://www.italytravelsguide.com/index.php. Buon Viaggio!
- "Italy for Dummies" is an absolutely great book. It really simplifies the country and regions for you and explains how to get to all the best sights quickly and easily.
