Can anyone tell me the name of a good family owned restaurant in rome Italy? Also in Sorrento? Whats your fav restaurant in Italy & where is it? What is the main differences between USA pasta and Italy Pasta. Also with the pizza. Do Italians use less fat and sugar then America? get 10 points for answering all Thank you!

  2. Many or even most restaurants in Italy are family-owned; walk a little off the main tourist streets in Rome and Sorrento and you'll find something fabulous. Most of the pasta is the same between USA & Italy, though they tend to serve more fresh or home-mad pasta in Italy (same taste, but often has irregular shapes from being hand-cut). Sauces vary considerably, but I've never had a bad meal in Italy! Risotto is more common than I've seen in the States. And yes, you're likely to have less fat and sugar in a normal meal, becuase they use more fresh ingredients. Gelatto, however, will offer plenty of fat & sugar:)
