Why Italy

Does any one know about the history of Art in Venice, Italy?

I just had my first people to people meeting, which was awesome!! So we have to pick a topic and present and I thought that I want to do something with Venice and with art. So I am going to hopefully do the history of art in Venice and make a power point presentation and maybe draw some of the things. So I was hoping some one can give me a start, I have to nero it down.

1. The golden age of Venetian art was during the late Renaissance through the Baroque period, where the two leading names were Titian and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. For contemporary art, Venice is famous for it's Venice Biennial (which is where the most cutting-edge young artists from around the world gather every two years to exhibit their work.)
