Has anybody learnt the Italian language? How hard was it?
I know some of the Italian language, I know how to count and can say the colours, as well as most of the months. I have recently developed a high interest in learning the language better and to become at least semi-fluent, though I hope to achieve fluency. My question is this: If you have learnt the language to this level, how long did it take you, what did you do to learn it, and how difficult would you say it was? ***SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE***

- Italian is a pretty easy language, ALOT easier than english atleast. It depends on your dedication to learn and how much you want to learn. If you had nothing better to do and just did it for a week straight you could probally extend your vocabulary alot, overall pretty easy/
- It is quite a difficult language to learn but also quite helpful and rewarding once you know it. To become semi-fluent, I enrolled in a local course and found this was a god way to learn. I have friends who taught themselves with books and cd's. It took me about 18 months of pretty intense classes to become fluent. Good Luck hope it helps!
- its quite difficult... ^^,
- Its pretty easy language to learn, than say Spanish or Portugese or French. Its the easiest latin derived language out of the three .
- When my job took me away from home Monday to Friday, I signed up for an Italian class in Chester, England, so as to have something slightly intellectual to do in the evenings. After 2 years of one evening per week plus an hour or two of homework, my Italian comprehension was pretty good and I could even make phone calls in Italian. However, I already had a really good knowledge of French and Spanish, so the grammar and much of the vocabulary was familiar. It's a rewarding language: no 'difficult' sounds, pronounced as it is written, delightful on the ear and well worth the trouble of learning.
