How do you say the following phrases in Italian?
How do you say the following phrases in Italian? I don't want to use babelfish, or one of the other translation sites as they can sometimes mess up the phrases since they translate word for word. "Happily Ever After" "Best Friends" "Kisses" "True Love" "Forever"
Public Comments
- Happily ever after: Per sempre felice (singular) or felici (plural) Best friends: migliori amici (for a male and female, or two males) or migliori amiche (for two females) Kisses: baci True love: vero amore Forever: per sempre (literally "for always")
- "Happily Ever after" it's a locution that can't be literally translated into Italian. In Italian we say ".. e da allora vissero felici e contenti" that's in English "...and they lived happily and merrily". Best friends is basically" (i) migliori amici" or " (le) migliore amiche" if referred just to women. Kisses is " baci", true love is "vero amore" (or amore vero) and forever translates as "per sempre" or "eternamente" ADDED In support to my version I've found in my dictionary the following sentence as an example : "...and Cinderella and the prince lived happily ever after " translates as "...e da allora Cenerentola e il principe vissero felici e contenti"
- i'm italian. So "Happily Ever After" Felicemente persino (or perfino) dopo "Best Friends" Migliori amici (for males) Migliori amiche (for females) "Kisses" Baci "True Love" Vero amore "Forever" Per sempre
