- Ya you basically got it right its: Gennaio 8 2008 or most people just do 1/8/08. EDIT: Yes the man below me is correct. I should of tooken that into consideration but anyway both are correct.
- italy, like most european countries writes in a day-month-year format, so you'd actually write: 8 gennaio 2008
- dtowngp is correct You should say "otto gennaio 2008" (8 gennaio 2008) Months and days are NOT capitalized in Italian, and short form is in the format DD/MM/YYYY, so 8/1/2008. If you wrote 1/8/2008, they would assume is is August 1, 2008 :-)
- You can write the date in a few different ways, just be sure to put the day before the month. You could say '8 gennaio/gen 2008.' If you're just using numbers, today would be 8/1/2008. Here are abbreviations for the months. They're pretty easy to remember: each one is just the first 3 letters of the month. gennaio = gen febbraio = feb marzo = mar aprile = apr maggio = mag giugno = giu luglio = lug agosto = ago settembre = set ottobre = ott november = nov dicembre = dic
- To say "the date is January 8th, 2008" you would say "la data รจ l'8 gennaio, 2008". Since the word for eight (otto) begins with an o, you would use l'. Most of the time, though, you would use il (for example, January 7th would be: il 7 gennaio). To abbreviate it you would write 8/1/08 (month/day/year).
- Si dice 8 Gennaio 2008 or 8/1/2008 or 8 Gen. 2008 dd/mm/yy
