- Yes. Only a day will be needed. It is a 10 year EU passport, so you are entitled to be anywhere in the EU during the whole of that time. It isn't a 9yr, 6 month passport! You are also entitled to stay in Italy, or any other EU nation, permanently.
- At least 6 months must be available from date of travel.
- you just need a valid passport, and the Italian Police are the most understandble people on earth.( i'm Italian my self, and live in the Netherlands, 2 years ago i went to Italy for business without a passport!!welcome to Italy).
- It is normally six months you need on your passport, but you can check with the Italian embassy find the phone number on the web
- If you live in Mainland Europe you wont need any passport at all, though if your coming from the UK you need a valid passport, its only really if your going outside the EU that your passport needs those magical 6 months
- it's the same for all countries. Six months. But you can try to persuade the border guards if they found out. Be gentle and charming about it. ;-)
