Why Italy

Looking for more information on an author, can you help?

Hi, I am looking for more information on an author: Francine G Woodbury. She wrote Shade and Shadow (ISB: 0-3453-9428-3). I enjoyed her book so much that I have a copy of it at home, however I can't seem to find details of anything else she may have written since then, which I'd really like to read. I've checked the Del Ray Online site at random house, and they don't mention her in their list of authors (even though she published her book through them!). All I know about her is what was listed on the endpage of her book: "According to her parents, Francine G Woodbury was left on their doorstep by a band of traveling Gypsies. It would explain a lot of things. Born in France, she has lived in New York, Montana and Italy but now resides in Massachusetts with her husband and their cats, Tarquin and Numa." I've tried Googling her name, but all that comes up is the book that I already have, I seem to be getting nowhere with this search, can anyone help me out? Thanks for your time :)

  1. I've searched Google, Amazon, Abe Books and several other sites. The only book listed is "Shade and Shadow", which may be the only book that Francine G Woodbury has published.
  2. My best guess, based on the clearly-tongue-in-cheek bio, is that Francine G. Woodbury is a pen name for an author who is reasonably well known in another genre. It's the norm (with notable exceptions like Stephen King) for an author to stick to one genre for several books. When he or she writes in another genre, it's published under a different name. This keeps readers who just love Maryn Bittner thrillers, for instance, from buying Maryn Bittner romances which would disappoint them, because they like thrillers, not romance. It sounds like the publisher is closely guarding the author's identity.
  3. Have you tried googling her name?
