Can I use a non-chip credit card in Italy?
I am travelling to Italy in April and have just received a non-chip credit card from my bank. I plan to use this as my main source of money. I have heard/read that non-chip cards are not accepted in many places throughout UK and Europe, but have found little information regarding their use in Italy. Has anyone used their non-chip card in Italy recently? Any advice would be great.

- It gets accepted and it does work like every other card too. You can use it in supermarkets, restaurants, gas stations .....
- It's still OK to use in Italy. Make sure you let the bank know you're travelling overseas so they don't stop your funds. Is it a credit or debit card? Any money taken from an ATM with the credit card will attract interest straight away, so you're better off with a debit card. Whichever card you use, make sure the PIN is 4 numbers.
