Why Italy
I have been dating a man in Italy for 3 years. I live in the US and plan to move to Milan in spring?
He is 32 years age and I am 45 years. We are very happy and in love EXCEPT his family refuses to meet me. They do not like that I am American and they do not like the difference of age, In all the time together, his mother still says she does not want to meet me. She has gone so far as to not speak to him for one month over christmas and new years....because he was with me. I offered for the two of us to visit the family in southern Italy but she said I was not welcome. Does anyone have experience with the mamma culture of power? Any suggestions are so appreciated.

- Babies are the only way to break this. You are going to be hated for the rest of your life. You better think about this because you will be marrying the family you know, not just him. You are probably not going to provide babies and that is you woe be un to you. That is really why they hate you not because your American. American is just another pile on reason. Its the babies honey, thats plural. My sister inlaw went through this exact same thing. It became such a strain he started beating her. A broken jaw finally ended their marriage.
