Why Italy
how hard is it to learn italian on my own?
i speak english as my first language, and i just started latin in school this year. It seems like latin comes pretty easy to me, and its not very hard for me to learn languages, but how hard would it be to learn italian without a teacher, and just a book?

- Basic Italian is not difficult to learn. The problem arises at the advanced level because the grammar is VERY complicated; so complicated, in fact, that most Italians -- even many educated ones -- do not use it correctly. Trust me when I tell you there is a big difference between "mio padre morto", and "mio padre fu morto". Buona fortuna
- Well many languages come off of latin. Many english and italien, so I think you will do fine bc of the fact that u are studying latin.
