Why Italy

Help me understand this please. I have dated white men for years.... is this because I was abused by black?

men? Growing up I was molested for 4 years by a step grandparent who is African American. I was physically and emotionally abused by my father and grandfather. I married a black man in which I was abused sexually, physically and emotionally. Now my family doesn't understand why I have dated Italian men for the past 8 years. It disgusts me because I am told that I don't have street smarts.... I only know the "white" way! I tried dating black men... but have found them deceitful and liars. Well, the men I have come to know. Although, I've never been abused by a white man, I hear that Italian men are cheaters... and being in love with one now... I have my insecurities due to my past pains. I need your opinion and help with this.

1. There are many very kind, smart, mature black men. I think you just had bad luck. But if you're happy, why should color matter?
2. You need to quit generalizing people by race. Stop focusing on skin color or culture, focus on personality and find a decent guy who treats you well. I am so sorry to hear that you have been through so many hardships but I really think that you are focusing on the wrong things. Talk to men, get to know them for who they are, not what they look like.
3. Italian men are more family oriented. I think it really depends on the person, you could be having some issues about dating black because of this situation you were in. But in all honestly....you have to go where your heart is...dont matter if they are white, black or green! lol Follow your heart and do what makes you feel better and safer. Good luck
4. Don't buy into the racial crap being thrown your way. If you are not living on the streets then what do you need street smarts for? People are people, some will cheat while others won't. It isn't necessary for your family to understand why you choose to date outside your race. Tell them that you didn't take his skin color into consideration, you liked the man himself.

Well yes I would say so.BUT WHITE MEN CHEAT ALSO believe me was married to one I think it has nothing to do with the color of your skin if your a cheater your a cheater.I am so sorry to hear about all the pain you sufferd in your life.Also I dated an Italian man once and he never cheated just thought you would like to know.
6. it sounds like u have had some real bad experiences dealing with this selected group but i would not suggest that all "blacks" abuse women this can happen and does happen in all races and yes this could be part of the reason why u have a preference of dating other races: but i always ask the question what is your blood type like that would make the difference
