Why Italy

Language to Learn? Italian, Portuguese, or French?

Hi everyone! I'm a fluent speaker of English and Spanish. I'm trying to decide which of these three languages to learn. I am torn between the practicality of (more people speak) French and Portuguese AND my personal interest in Italian (my last name is Italian). I would really appreciate any help deciding which language and/or your opinions about it before I start (similar experiences). THANKS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

  1. I just started learning Italian. It would be easy for you since you know Spanish. There are a lot of similar words in Italian and Spanish. I've always thought Italian was a very romantic language.
  2. If you know Spanish studying Italian, Portuguese, or French will be easy, the bad thing of studying French is the pronunciation but you want to study 3 cool lenguages but I would prefer to study Italian
  3. French because it is used much more than the others. You have better chances of French coming in handy in the future. On a world scale French is spoken in many more countries than Italian or Portuguese (Many countries in Africa use French as primary or secondary language) Just look at the instructions on everything, Its always English, French, and Spanish then others. Oh, french is spoken in 35 countries, where Portuguese is in only 5
  4. Portuguese language is spoken by 170 million people, French language is spoken by 72 million people. I speak Portuguese, French, Spanish and English
  5. I'd go with your personal interest, as that will help you immensely in learning the language. Furthermore, Italian is the easiest choice of the three, and it's a language unique to one country. Learning Italian is simple, fun, and gives you an excuse to travel to a country with great food and wine. Best of luck.
  6. knowing that you know some spanish, you can learn french or italian..best would be french you want to learn something totally different..
  7. If you're thinking of putting your knowledge to good use you might be interested in knowing some of the most spoken languages in the world. I included a few of them. List of most spoken languages 1- Mandarin - 1051 million 2- Spanish - 500 million 3- English ... 6- Portuguese - 223 million 17- French 18- Italian I speak English, Spanish and Portuguese. I can understand Italian and French. I found that either Portuguese or Italian were far easier to learn than French. Hope it helps
