Why Italy

what do you think about Italy? and especially about italian people/culture..?

1. personally... i think that italy is a wonderful place and italians are just gorgeous. however they think that they are the best people in the world and until a few years ago they did not learn english because they thought that if people would like to talk to them they have to learn italian. its a wonderful place though... especially rome is very nice. and except for the language part, i think that italians are also great. they have great food!!
2. By what I have seen in the tv, I would love to move there for a year. I have heard that Italians are great, heart-warming, and welcoming to foreigners, and since I know Spanish it is easy to learn Italian, I have a dictionary to learn on my own. I have also heard that Italian men are a little bit too welcoming but here in Miami, Cubans can do odd things to us women. Hey I am a Cuban-american, I should know myself. Oh, and unlike some of my conrads, I do not mind learning other languages, we Americans get the fame as idiots who do not like to learn other languages, and for some of my friends it is true, but I believe the more languages one knows, the better they are in life, and the smarter they are. So I know spanish, english, and french. Five words of german, three of portuguese, and four of Italian...
3. Being 1/2 Italian I am biased. I think in general, they are warm, excitable, hospitable people. Unfortunately, tourists can be a target for thieves in Rome. The history in that country is phenomenal!!!
4. Italians are very nice people, they have a wondeful places to visit and I can't talk about there food its the best, they have a great culrure too. Regarding the language I don't mind what people do think about them but I can tell that not only them, Americans and British too, can you tell me why Amercans want the hole world to understand English and they don't try to learn others language, we should do what the Roman proverb says " When you go to Rome do what the Roman .."
