  1. Very very difficult - you can only get such low prices if you book way in advance. The cheapest prices for SFO or LAX to Continental Europe is 1000-1200 USD, booked a few months in advance for low season. Best look for tickets that go to London, Paris, Frankfurt, Rome or Vienna and connect to Venice from these other airports with a local budget flight or a train. Maybe you can find something suitable this way. (I currently get 1200 for a few selected flights in July on the LAX-DUS route via Las Vegas - that is the lowest.) http://www.skyscanner.net can help you with the budget flighs within Europe. Edit: Zurich to Venice should be done by train - see http://ww.sbb.ch/
  2. That's a tall order. I see $1319 per ticket from http://www.hotwire.com using 16jul-15aug. If you could go on 2 tickets, I see San Francisco to Manchester, England with Air Canada via Toronto for $810 USD total (using 17jul-17aug). From Manchester to Venice 18jul (arrival day) - 17aug (early), $208 (Alitalia) for a total of $1018 thereabouts. If you could transfer from Manchester to Liverpool, take Ryanair to Treviso for 30 GBP. With airport transfers, though, this probably not worth all the hassle just to save $100 on this trip.
  3. try this link: http://www.jasontravel.com/services/belair.php fly from SFO with BelAir Airline (Swiss charter schedule airlines) to Zurich. you may find Swiss flying from Zurich to Venice the following day for less than $600 r/t for 3 pers. www.swiss.com otherwise you won't find low cost tickets on line for high seaon. May i suggest to go to a travel agency and ask for APEX tickets. (unpublished on line by anyone)
  4. Not easy to do. You've chosen to fly at the peak of high season here when all Americans are taking their European vacations and so are the Europeans! And you're looking for what would be considered a last minute ticket for this time period. The cheapest I found on farecompare.com was $1,462 per person on Delta leaving July 13 and returning Aug. 15. Do you have to fly to Venice? Since it is a smaller international airport, prices might be higher to go there. On Orbitz.com I found a RT from SFO to Milan for the same dates for $1,264 per person on Virgin Atlantic. From Milan you can take the train to Venice for 23 euro, one-way for a second-class ticket. My overall advice is to go to the individual airline websites -- you can often get cheaper tickets directly with them. Otherwise, the best consolidator sites I've used are farecompare.com and orbitz.com. Good luck!
  5. Try your search for flights on "YTB Travel - Amazing Tours and Travel" www.amazingtoursandtravel.com click on the "book travel" link go to travel site. July 17: SFO to VCE Aug 15: VCE to SAN RT: $1414 per person. Taxes included. Note: If you delay your vacation by one week, you save some money, here's how: July 24: SFO to VCE Aug 23: VCE to SFO RT: $1332 per person. Taxes included. On the travel site there are three options for international flight search: 1. One way and advanced flight search 2. International flight search 3. farebuzz These are all located under the flights column. Note: If you need a hotel, the travel site has a 110% guarantee.
