Why Italy

Do you ever get mistaken for another race or culture ?

Well myself I am half chinese and on my mom's side their is a mix of south american indian ,portugese, indian, chinese and German .a Heinz 57. lol ..But due to the fact that I ended up with darker skin I get told by people I am adopted. Or when I was at work these black women decided to have a conversation about me ...They told me my parent smust hate me because I am not the same colour as they are ! Which made me laugh .And they said they were shocked that I have not dated a black man and why would I marry an Italian guy ???? Okay my family 's heritage is not African so I am not sure why I have to learn the black culture or date black men .Secondly I told my husband who was a bit anoyed as he says when he is with my family it is more Chinese traditions we use . My question is how many have been mistaken for another culture ?

  1. I am azn and someone thought that i was a mexican lol i dyed my hair really red and my skin was really tanned at that time
  2. Nope im Irish-American
  3. Yeah, I look like a WASP. But I'm a Celt and a Jew with some Asian blood.
  4. it is hard to mistake a black person that is brown for another race. the closest a black person gets is being mistaken for a biracial or multiracial person. those blk girls had self esteem problems that told you that. i dont feel like getting into all that.
  5. i'm mulatta [half white and half black] people think i'm hispanic all the time! lol !
  6. I can't believe it but sometimes people think I'm latina. Which is really weird because I have pale skin, blonde hair and hazel eyes.
  7. All the time man, I'm half white and half black. So, I can be Greek, Italian, Hispanic, or even middle eastern at any given time depending on how my hair is cut. It used to be quite the novelty, now I'm rather bored with it. This week, I'm from Venezuela.
  8. i'm mixed black and white. but i'm really light. at work lots of hispanics come in and are like espanol? finally i asked someone why and they said i looked like i'm from the dominican republic. people still ask if i speak spanish and it makes me mad. this is america we speak english here
  9. How sorry if you are bothered about this kind of craps. In my country, everyone's skin colour comes into one and the same category, so it is very common for people to be mistaken for other cultures or races. I have been mistaken so many times. Here 50% of the time you cant tell a person's culture, race or religion.
  10. Nope. Never! I think your mix is beautiful though
  11. Well, I thought this one would be a tough one but I think I can answer it. You don't owe anyone an explanation of who you are and where your heritage comes from. You are a product of a wonderful mix of different bloods. See, this world is going through many trials with the war, hurricanes, and other evils. And all those women want to talk about is how you look. They should be ashamed of themsevelves. I get mistaken for Haitian. But I am going through my family tree to see if it is true and I am seeing that it is.
  12. heh no i've never been mistake for anything else aside from a white canadian i mean look at me if i were any paler i'd be see through and from what folks tell me i act canadian (though i'm not sure what that means)
  13. Nope, I'm 100% Party-Dude. Party-On!
  14. You should avoid dumb conversations with those women at your job--they're trying to brainwash you. You don't hav to learn the black culture or date black men. As 4 yor question, no I haven't been mistaken for another culture. Don't let this or ppl like those women bother you--life is too short.
  15. I'm black...but I'm light for my color...as far as i know my grandmother is white and she is from Europe...i dont know what my mom is because she was adopted as a baby shes black but she looks like she could be mixed with something else...but i usually get asked if I'm Hispanic,Cuban, half white, even asked if imHawaiian...but as far as i know I'm African American, but most people dont believe me cuz im just lighter
  16. Believe it or not, some people think I'm a miniature Dalmatian!
  17. i get confused for being Indian, Mexican, Dominican, thats about it.
  18. i have 3 diffrent backgrounds. my moms side is cuban/white and my dads side is african american/puerto rican so yea i have a mix ive been thought to be brazilian and dominican by most of my ex's haha:) guess im hot j.kk
  19. I don't usually get mistaken, people just plain don't know. My skin is fairly light, but when I tan I get brown, not "tan"/orange...if that makes sense. I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. I'm not hispanic, I'm not Italian, I'm not native American, I'm not half black...I'm half Indian! India as in the country. The other half of me is...well white. People usually are mistaken when I say Indian, and assume Native American..not the country, "India". I don't really look like the typical "Indian" that you see in the US I suppose, many of my traits are way different. I suppose thats the "white" half of me.
  20. Most people have me pegged as a person of German origin. My father was Polish and my mother was Scottish.
